Benefits of Joining a Weekly Homeschool Co-op
Joining a Kansas City homeschool co-op is a powerful way to enrich your family's homeschooling journey with connection, community, and support. While homeschooling offers incredible freedom and flexibility, it can sometimes feel isolating—for both parents and children.
For students, SEICHE co-op provides:
* consistent, weekly opportunities for your students to learn in group settings
* experience in hands-on classes taught by passionate instructors
* opportunities to build lasting friendships with other homeschool students from families with shared values
* opportunities to connect with peers their ages in a safe, Christ-centered setting
* a plethora of fantastic classes and subjects it is often difficult to replicate for 1 or 2 students at home (think science labs, computer coding, hands-on art, etc.)
For parents, SEICHE co-op provides:
* a network of like-minded families who understand the unique joys and challenges of home education
* a community of Christian parents who will come alongside you as you educate your children according to your plan
* a sense of belonging and opportunities to connect outside of co-op days for events, field trips, and more casual interactions
Whether you're looking for academic enrichment, accountability, social interaction, or simply a sense of belonging, a homeschool co-op offers a structure that enhances learning while keeping your family rooted in community.
Homeschool Co-op Classes
SEICHE co-op classes are taught by volunteer parents who teach what they are passionate about, so class offerings vary by semester. That being said, our SEICHE co-op team is very intentional about curating our class offerings to meet the needs of our families.
Each semester, SEICHE co-op prioritizes enriching, immersive classes for every age group: 3-5, 5-7, 8-10, 11-13, & 14-18. While some classes may span multiple age groups, we work hard to ensure there are plenty of options for every student.
A few of our incredible popular past co-op classes include:
* Art (Acrylics, Watercolor, Screen-Print, Needle Felting, Elementary Art, & more)
* Academic Science Classes (Biology lab, Chemistry lab, Earth Science)
* Music (Percussion, Vocal Music, Meet the Orchestra, Rhythm Band)
* Geography (Around the World with Books & Food, Passport to America)

What Makes SEICHE Co-op Unique?
What makes the SEICHE homeschool co-op truly unique is the way we operate as a Christ-centered, family-led community—not just a collection of classes. Rooted in Liberty, Missouri, and serving families across the Northland and beyond, our co-op is built on the belief that homeschooling works best in the context of meaningful relationships and shared purpose. While many co-ops focus solely on academics or require parents to teach, SEICHE strikes a thoughtful balance: parents stay on-site and contribute through assigned roles, but teaching is optional, with mentorship and support offered to those who feel called to step into that role.
Our weekly classes are designed to be hands-on, interactive, and difficult to replicate at home, such as full science labs, drama productions, and a variety of fine arts experiences. Class sizes are intentionally kept small—averaging around 15 students—to foster connection, collaboration, and individual support. Unlike many other co-ops, our high school enrollment numbers are very strong, with a large number of teens attending weekly. With options for all ages (including preschool and nursery care for younger siblings), and the flexibility to attend just one hour or stay the full day, SEICHE offers families both structure and freedom. Add to that our Co-op Showcase, community lunches and recess, and access to wider SEICHE events and field trips, and you'll find a co-op experience that feels more like family than a program.
While our offerings are rich and varied, SEICHE is uniquely flexible. You can choose to attend for just one hour if that's the best fit for your family right now. That being said, we are firm believers that you'll get out of it what you put in. Attending for more hours, or the full day, will naturally give you and your children more opportunities to make connections and build meaningful relationships.
